The fourth generation of iPad, the iPad with retina display or iPad 4, was unveiled today in San Jose, CA. A special event was organized to release several updated Apple products to select members of the media. iPad 4 Package
- Display – 9.7 inch screen, 3.1 million pixels with a 2048 x 1536 resolution
- Processor – Apple has released it’s latest mobile device processor – the A6X. Compared to the previous A5X processor, the A6X dual core processor with quad core GPU will double the performance of CPU tasks. With twice the speed and twice the graphics performance of the iPad 3 chip, applications will load instantly while internet gaming runs smoothly. The update also brings an improved image signal processor to provide sharper photo and video quality.
- iSight (FaceTime HD, video recording) – 5-megapixel camera featuring backside illumination , auto exposure, and built-in face detection.
- Battery – Provides up to ten hours of reading, writing, internet browsing, etc…
- Lightning connector – 8-pin dock connector with available support to cameras, SD cards, VGA, and HDMI digital video.
- Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity – with built-in Wi-Fi capabilities, “many of the things you do everyday may start to feel a whole lot faster”- Apple. The iPad with Wi-Fi + Cellular connects with cellular networks such as Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T.
